With a strong understanding of the Spokane community and a vision for its future, Melissa Murphy has emerged as a shining star in the Inland Northwest real estate community.
Barely into her 30s and already a perennial top-volume Realtor in the Spokane marketplace, Melissa is a senior partner and the managing broker of Choice Realty, a relatively young Spokane real estate company that is changing the meaning of the term “full-service brokerage.”
With the exception of a year studying abroad and a stint as a legislative assistant in Washington, D.C. and Olympia, Melissa has lived in Spokane since her parents move to the Lilac City from Southern California when she was 1 year old. She served as a Lilac Princess before graduating with honors from Gonzaga Preparatory School.
Melissa graduated from Gonzaga University with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2003 and attended for her masters of business administration degree a couple of years later.
From the time she started her graduate work to present day, Melissa has listed and sold more than 200 homes throughout Spokane, with a special focus on the neighborhood where she grew up and lives today: Spokane’s South Hill. In addition, she has helped dozens of buyers find the right house at the best price.
Of course, it comes as no surprise to anybody that the real estate market has changed dramatically in recent years, and Melissa has honed her skills to help both buyers and sellers in this new marketplace.
For home sellers, she has developed an accurate barometer of listing performance and how to position a home to get the most showings—and ultimately, the best offer.

The dynamic marketplace is one reason Melissa left a traditional real estate brokerage and started Choice Realty with fellow top Spokane producer Ron McIntire.
Soon to be located in the Minnesota Building in the heart of downtown Spokane, Choice Realty offers conventional, commission-based services.
